RLZ Method Trade Example

In today's newsletter, I'll be breaking down a trade setup step-by-step, using the RLZ Method as our guide.

Our focus today is a Short on NZDUSD.

As you can see from the chart below, the price exhibits a clear downtrend, marked by Lower Highs and Lower Lows. This pattern is the simplest definition of a downtrend and is one of the first things that students of the RLZ Method learn to identify when they open their charts

In the following image, you'll notice a Horizontal Support & Resistance area. This is our second priority when scanning for setups. We aim to capitalize on a basic setup rooted in the Break & Retest theory, especially within trending markets.

Our strategy is two-fold: first, we identify a trend, and then we seek out Horizontal Support & Resistance levels to pinpoint our entries.

Lastly, we just need to incorporate the RLZ Slingshot Indicator.

Observe how the indicator precisely determines the anchor points for Fibonacci placement, emitting a Strong Short signal once the price experiences a rejection within the Short RLZ. This signal aligns perfectly with the Horizontal Support & Resistance level.

When this signal triggers, it's our cue to make the move.

I drop my sell orders right on the 0.5 fib, with the SL just above the swing point that spurred the setup. As for my target? I'm looking at the Weekly Open below.

Why the Weekly Open? Well, it's sitting pretty close to the bottom, making it the ideal FTA (First Trouble Area). This type of TP-strategy might seem a tad conservative, focusing on lower R trades, but with a win rate hovering around 55-60%, even 1R trades perform wonderfully.
